Bologna coach Roberto Donadoni admits his side lacked the cutting edge required in their 1-0 defeat to Hellas Verona at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Monday evening.

Samir Santos netted the Gialloblu’s winner on the stroke of half-time to condemn Bologna to their third successive defeat.

“When you get three defeats in a row it is clear that there is a common denominator,” Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“Today we were low in terms of determination, which in the second half there was some.

“We knew that Verona would come here to play a game of some kind, and we were not able to hold it out.”

Bologna are now without a win in their last seven outings but Donadoni was satisfied with his side’s second-half showing.

“In the whole 90 minutes if you have the intensity of the second half, the opportunities will arise and you can take advantage of them,” he added.

“When you waste 45 minutes it becomes more complicated.”
