The Azzurri midfielder spoke to the press after Napoli’s 3-1 defeat against Udinese, a result which now puts a massive dent in the club’s Scudetto hopes, however the Slovakian is not ready to give up just yet.

“The match against Udinese was fundamental but the title continues to be a dream for us,” Hamsik told Radio Kiss Kiss. “Until it’s mathematically impossible, we will continue to try to close the gap on Juventus.

“Now we have an important match against Hellas Verona to focus on, and we will need to win that.”

Hamsik also refused to get sucked into the polemic gorge that followed the referee’s performance.

“I have not seen [a replay of] the two penalties,” he said. “However, I can assure you that it hurts to have two given against you.”

The Napoli captain has accumulated 31 Serie A appearances in this season, scoring five goals.
