Hellas Verona on Sunday afternoon for a crunch relegation clash with both sides knowing that defeat would be likely to bring an end to their Serie A status.

The Mastini have been bottom of the table for some time and despite a recent rally, are still six points from safety. Roberto Stellone’s side have found the going tough during their first top flight season but sit just one point inside the drop zone.

Stellone will be well aware that his side have been abject on the road this season, having picked up just one win and five points away from the Stadio Matusa. The Gialloblu have lost their last two home games, so neither side will enter the game in particularly good form.

Verona are one of few Serie A sides who had met Frosinone before their arrival in the top flight. The two were in Serie B together in 2006/07, when the game at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Canarini triumphed in the game between the two earlier in the season, with Daniel Ciofani grabbing a brace in a 3-2 win. That game is the only time Frosinone have scored more than twice in a Serie A game.

Both sides will be weakened by injuries suspensions as they look to climb to safety. Luigi Delneri is unable to call upon Samuel Souprayen after his dismissal at Napoli, while Filip Helander, Luca Siligardi and Mohammed Fares are all on the treatment table.

Stellone will be without Leonardo Blanchard, after his sending off against Inter, whilst Arlind Ajeti will also be missing . His only injury doubt is Paolo Sammarco, who may return next week, but this game looks to be too early for him.

Hellas Verona -

Luca Toni remains in a four-way tie for 18th leading scorer in Serie A history. The veteran has 156 goals to his name, so a single strike here would lift him above such luminaries as Luigi Riva, Filippo Inzaghi and Roberto Mancini. However, he has not found the net since February.

Meanwhile, Daniel Ciofani and Federico Dionisi are embroiled in their own race to become the first Frosinone player to double figures of goals in a Serie A season. Currently, both have eight, but if Ciofani can repeat his trick from the previous meeting with Verona, he would reach that landmark.
