archivo578Serie A reigning champions Juventus and runner-ups Napoli are set to duel over Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, reports say.

The Azzurri are allegedly looking to strengthen their midfield, while the Old Lady could be on the hunt for Paul Pogba’s replacement, with the Frenchman possibly on the leave from the Juventus Stadium.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the bidding war between the two Serie A giants will start on Friday, when the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, will reach Italy together with Valencia’s owner Peter Lim.

Andre Gomes will be potentially sold for a fee in the region of €22 million, according to sources close to the Portuguese agent.

The 22-year-old is known as a versatile midfielder, capable of playing as a trequartista—behind the forward line—or as a playmaker.

The Portugal international managed to secure 27 La Liga appearances throughout this season, scoring one goal and delivering four assists.
