Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, with a big summer ahead.

Croatian hitman Mandzukic is viewed by Spurs as an ideal candidate to partner Harry Kane in north London, and although the Bianconeri are non committal currently they could still be given the green light before next season.

Much depends on the future of Mandzukic’s fellow forward Alvaro Morata, reportĀ Tuttosport.

Morata is strongly linked to former club Real Madrid who hold a buy-back clause within his contract, as they ponder over the possibility of using him as bait to land Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Should Morata leave Turin in the summer, then Mandzukic will need to stay as the club’s principal striker.

However, should the Spaniard depart then 29-year-old Mandzukic may be free to leave in search of a new challenge.

Kane is the only Tottenham player to reach double figures in the league this season, notching 22 goals to date.

Although Mandzukic is still in single figures for Juventus this Serie A campaign, he is a proven goalscorer having been a regular on the scoresheet at Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich previously.
