Spalletti RomaSpeaking ahead of the massive game against Napoli, Roma coach Luciano Spalletti believes his side will be stronger with Francesco Totti rather than without him.

There has been an uneasy relationship between the pair despite Totti’s recent goals but Spalletti has dismissed rumours of a complete breakdown between the coach and his captain.

“First of all there is no bad blood between me and Francesco [Totti],” Spalletti claimed. “His future is something we need to discuss at the end of the season and it relates to everyone at the club.

“I’ll be very pleased if next year Francesco keeps doing what he loves and makes him happy. I’ll be there with him to find his role next year, whether it be on the pitch or off it.”

Turning his attention to the Napoli game, Spalletti praised the progress the Partenopei have made this season under new coach Maurizio Sarri.

“I think what they have done this season is incredible,” Spalletti added. “They have enjoyed a really good season and developed into the style that Sarri wants.

“They are the best team in Italy behind Juventus and have come along way in the space of just 12 months.”

The game at the Stadio Olimpico will go along way in deciding who will finish in the top two with Roma five points behind Napoli who are in second with four games to go.
