A solution may have finally been found in regards to Francesco Totti’s future at Roma, as it has been claimed that the Italian’s contract extension could be confirmed on Monday.
It had been previously reported that the 39-year-old could potentially depart the Stadio Olimpcio at the end of the current campaign, particularly after several public disputes with coach, Luciano Spalletti.
However, Sky Sport Italia have now stated that the club hierarchy are willing to offer Totti an additional season with the Giallorossi, and they will officially confirm the new deal following their Serie A fixture against Genoa on Monday.
The iconic captain has been in fine form for the Lupi as of late, scoring three goals in previous three domestic league fixtures, and this recent return to goalscoring form may have had an integral influence upon the board’s decision.
