montella sampdoriaVincenzo Montella has reportedly been identified by AC Milan as their next potential coaching appointment following the early struggles of Cristian Brocchi after he replaced another ex-Sampdoria coach in Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Rossoneri are in a state of turmoil as it remains unclear who will take over on the bench while the possibility of Chinese investment continues to hang over the club.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi is yet to make a decision on the matter of who his coach will be for the 2016-17 season but Montella has reportedly been identified as a suitable candidate although there has not yet been any formal approach.

Samp president Massimo Ferrero confirmed that Montella will stay on at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris for a second season but he will likely be allowed to leave if a bigger club comes calling and Milan could expect to activate a €1 million release clause considering the good relationship that exists between the two clubs.

Brocchi will be at the Milan helm for the Coppa Italia final against Juventus but doubts remain over his future even if he manages to bring home silverware and deny Juve a second successive double.
