paolo maldiniFormer AC Milan stalwart Paolo Maldini has admitted that it would be strange to imagine the club without its owner Silvio Berlusconi at the helm.

As the Rossoneri continue to be subjected to rife rumours of an impending takeover from Chinese investors, Maldini believes that no matter what the outcome is, Milan will always be grateful to Berlusconi due to the immense success they enjoyed under him.

“It will be strange to see Berlusconi sell the club,” the 47-year-old Maldini told Sky Sport Italia.

“His ownership spans 30 years. 30 years filled with many successes and investments, not to mention lots of beautiful moments

“Milan will always be indebted to the Berlusconi family for taking the club to unprecedented heights never achieved before

“Should the sale go through, it will be a gesture of love for this team that loves and who love you [Berlusconi] too.”
