rudiger messiRoma defender Antonio Rudiger would like to stay with the Giallorossi after his first season in the Italian capital.

After struggling to adapt to Italian football, the performances from the German defender improved in the second half of the 2015-16 season and he helped his team secure third place in the Serie A table.

“My first year in Serie A was good,” Rudiger told WAZ. “My first year in Serie A was good. Unfortunately we did not succeed in getting second place but the ending of the season was positive.

“The difference with the Bundesliga and Serie A is mainly the tactical nature of it.”

Rudiger is currently owned by German club Stuttgart and he has been linked with a move to English club Chelsea but he is not worried about the transfer speculation.

“Currently I am a Roma player and I am happy at this club,” he added. “The again you never know what can happen in football and I wish that the club can come up with something now or after Euro 2016.

“I have heard Chelsea rumours for about three years now but I repeat that I am doing well at Roma.”
