Italy announce final Euro 2016 roster

conteItaly coach Antonio Conte has announced his final 23-man squad for this summer’s European Championship.

The Chelsea-bound bench boss named his preliminary squad just one week ago, and after a 1-0 victory against Scotland on Sunday, the final seven cuts were made.

Today’s casualties include the quartet of Davide Astori, Jorginho, Riccardo Montolivo and Giacomo Bonaventura.

Three reserves were named in the case of a late injury, namely Daniele Rugani, Davide Zappacosta and Marco Benassi.

Italy’s Euro 2016 roster:

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Federico Marchetti (Lazio), Salvatore Sirigu (Paris Saint-Germain)

Defenders: Andrea Barzagli (Juventus), Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Angelo Ogbonna (West Ham), Matteo Darmian (Manchester United), Mattia De Sciglio (AC Milan)

Midfielders: Daniele De Rossi (Roma), Alessandro Florenzi (Roma), Emanuele Giaccherini (Bologna), Thiago Motta (Paris Saint-Germain), Marco Parolo (Lazio), Stefano Sturaro (Juventus), Antonio Candreva (Lazio)
