Dani AlvesJuventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has denied that any deals have been completed for Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano from Barcelona.

Although Marotta praised the strength of Spanish football, he insisted that the Bianconeri will not be acquiring the services of two experienced stars from the Blaugrana to bolster the defence.

“At the moment Spain are the best in European football,” the Juventus director told Calciomercato. “If you speak about Barcelona and Real Madrid, you are talking about the best in the world.

“Dani Alves is not ours but he is a great player. We will see what we can do on the transfer market, remembering that Juve is already a team that can compete on all fronts.

“Media speculation [inks us with Mascherano, however, we do not want to sell any part of our defence especially if [Martin] Caceres is not leaving on a free transfer.”
