Manduzkic Juventus LazioAfter putting a difficult start to life in Serie A well behind him, Mario Mandzukic is raring to continue helping Juventus work towards achieving their goals.

A fifth straight Scudetto title has given the Bianconeri some relative peace as they prepare for a Coppa Italia final against AC Milan in two weeks, and the Croatian argued in a recent interview that the team helped him regain his best form.

“The start in Turin was not easy,” Mandzukic told Sportske Novosti. “It took time to settle in and connect with the team, then I realized this group had enough character to eventually bring Juve back to the top.

“I was impressed by the organization of the club, especially in times of crisis when everyone from executives to staff would work together. The important thing is to keep this group together and prove our worth so that we can fight to win the Champions League.”

Mandzukic continued to laud his coach Massimiliano Allegri in particular, who helped the former Bayern Munich poacher towards recovery from injury.

“Allegri helped me a lot,” Mandzukic added. “He wanted me here at Juve, I remained close to him when I wasn’t well, and he always supported me.”
