Inter striker Mauro Icardi.

The Red Devils are allegedly considering signing one of those two Serie A attacking stars to strengthen their offensive line-up.

According to the Guardian, United’s soon-to-be-announced new coach Jose Mourinho is personally considering the two strikers.

However, the Portuguese manager is also reportedly eyeing Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain as a reinforcement for his attacking roster.

Among the three options, nonetheless, the one linking the Red Devils to Morata appears to be the most likely, as the Spain international has struggled throughout the season to gain more playing time, in competition with teammates such as Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic.

As a consequence, Morata has been employed as a substitute for most of the season; however, he ended up totalling 34 Serie A appearances, eight goals and seven assists.

On the other hand, 23-year-old Icardi has scored 16 goals for Inter in the process of his 33 Serie A appearances.
