umtitiShould Antonio Rudiger depart from Roma this summer, the Giallorossi have identified Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti or Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma as replacements.

The German centre-back is currently on loan at the capital club, but the Lupi appear likely to execute their €9 million purchase clause for the Stuttgart defender.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are all showing interest in the 23-year-old and the Giallorossi intend to flip the player for at least €25 million, and will replace him with one of Umtiti or Zouma.

Umtiti at 22-years-old, is one of Europe’s highest rated young defenders and has already appeared in 167 professional games for Les Gones.

Zouma is another highly-rated youngster but his career is currently in stasis following an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered while featuring for the Blues in February.

Roma director Walter Sabatini hopes to use the injury as a bargaining chip and reportedly already began negotiations with Chelsea in April.
