rudiger barcelonaRoma general manager Walter Sabatini plans to cash in on dispensable defender Antonio Rudiger, with Premier League club Chelsea waiting in the wings.

The German centre-back has impressed at the capital club this season but has seemingly not earned the trust of upper management.

“If there is an important offer for Rudiger we will listen because even though he is an important player, he is still replaceable,” Sabatini told members of the media at the annual Premio CONI-USSI event.

The Giallorossi are set to execute their €9 million purchase clause agreed with Stuttgart last summer and seem poised to resell the 23-year-old to the highest bidder.

Chelsea are reportedly in pole position to sign the player and will present a €25 million bid, which would represent a significant profit for the club.

Rudiger has made 37 appearances across all competitions for the Giallorossi this season.
