Italian forward Giuseppe Rossi will likely return to his parent club Fiorentina in some capacity after his loan with Levante finishes at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The 29-year-old has scored five in 15 appearances for the Spanish side but they are not expected to be able to activate their €6 million buyout cause following relegation from the top flight.
According to the Corriere Fiorentino, Rossi will therefore return to Florence and wait for news as it is still unclear where his future lies
The Viola are not keen to worry about transfer matters until the season’s end when they will meet with Rossi and his representatives to work out the best possible solution.
A move to a new Italian side appears unlikely after Genoa were the only Serie A club to express any interest in January so a return to Villarreal has been tipped as the most probable outcome.
