MaccaroneTorino coach Giampiero Ventura was delighted the Granata’s difficult season is over.

He added his players performed well despite their defeat against Empoli, but lacked the final decisive blow in too many occasions.

“When you don’t win in certain games it means it’s a season that has to end as soon as possible,” Giampaolo told Sky Sport. “The problem is not the loss in itself, but the whole game.

“We conceded three shots and two were goals, after we created a lot and hit the woodwork twice.

“It has happened many times this season, our opponents were good to take their chances.

“I have a lot of anger in me. If it will be someone else in my place next season it’s normal, it’s part of football.

“We have been working to be able to not have regrets, make the youngsters grow, and develop a future for the club. We have to improve in being clinical and continue with the good work done so far.”
