Italy’s World Cup winning midfielder Andrea Pirlo departed Juventus at the end of last season to join Major League Soccer’s New York City FC, where he has become an integral part of the new club’s style of play.
Since joining his new club, Pirlo has made 23 appearances during two seasons, and has contributed eight assists, including a game winning assist on Sunday night against the Portland Timbers.
It remains unclear if the former Bianconeri man will be included in Antonio Conte’s squad for the upcoming European Championships, which would disrupt the midfielders MLS season.
