gasperiniGenoa coach Gian Piero Gaseprini has reportedly reached an agreement with Atalanta to take charge at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

Despite guiding the Bergamaschi to a comfortable 13th place finish in Serie A last season, and finishing just one point behind the Grifone, Edy Reja’s future seems destined to lie away from Bergamo.

Tuttomercatoweb report that Atalanta’s president Antonio Percassi has agreed to appoint Gasperini and hand the 58-year-old an initial two-year deal, with an option to add a third year which would last until the end of the 2018/19 season.

It is now thought that Gasperini will meet with the Rossoblu to rescind his current contract before putting pen to paper on the deal to take him to Bergamo.

Gasperini’s first senior coaching role came at Crotone in 2003, since then, he has taken charge of Inter, Genoa, and Palermo.
