Leonardo-Bonucci-JuventusManchester United are prepared to offer €30 million for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, as they have stepped in on the pursuit of the Italian international.

Bonucci, who featured as one of the Bianconeri’s star figures during the past season, has been increasingly linked with an array of moves to the English Premier League over the past few weeks with both Chelsea and Manchester City said to hold an interest in the player.

However, it seems Manchester United have now jumped in on the race, as the Daily Star report Jose Mourinho’s side are prepared to table an offer of €30 million, believed to be half of what Juventus are asking for.

The Portuguese tactician is looking to shore up his defence ahead of the new season, having recently taken over at the club, and has taken an extreme liking to the in demand centre-back.

Yet Juventus are said to be demanding a minimum of €60 million in order to let their key man go, suggesting they will turn down the proposed bid.

A potential buyer could arrive sooner than anticipated though, as United’s offer holds the potential to spark a bidding war amongst their English neighbours.
