MontellaNew AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella stressed his intention to make the club successful again after recent turmoil.

The 42-year-old replaced Cristian Brocchi after getting back into work with Sampdoria following Walter Zenga’s sacking.

“There’s always a lot of feelings during a change,” said Montella to Premium Sport.

“I used to dream of playing for Milan as a child and Marco van Basten was my idol.”

The new Rossoneri coach also discussed what has to be done in the short term.

“We all need to sit down and talk with the aim of returning to greatness in Italy and Europe,” added Montella.

“It’s a difficult challenge but I am convinced we can do it.

“It’s players who make the difference and we need to get more out of their performances.”
