Falcao - ChelseaNapoli could plot a surprising swoop for Monaco and Colombia forward Radamel Falcao if Gonzalo Higuain departs the club this summer.

Falcao has had a difficult time in the past few seasons as he has struggled to mirror the performances he had at Atletico Madrid. Top sides such as Chelsea and Manchester United have tried to reignite the player’s goal scoring form but have both been unsuccessful in their efforts.

According to Sport Mediaset, it is believed that the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, offered his client’s services during the negotiations for Fabinho, who is reportedly very close to agreeing a move to the Partenopei.

Falcao impressed during his times at Porto, Atletico Madrid, and briefly Monaco. Following his severe anterior cruciate ligament injury in January 2014, Falcao has struggled to maintain his previous form.

Higuain, meanwhile, made 42 appearances in all competitions for Napoli, netting an incredible 38 goals. And with the player’s decision to not renew his contract that expires in 2018, the Italian side will have to look for a replacement.
