dani alvesNew Juventus signing Dani Alves is excited at the new opportunities he will have in the Italian top-flight following a move from Barcelona.

The Spanish giants announced in early June that Alves would leave the club after eight years, and a few weeks later the Brazilian international signed a two-year deal with the Bianconeri.

“I’m not someone who likes doing the same thing for their whole life, at one point I get bored and that’s why I had to leave [Barcelona],” the 33-year-old told the press at his unveiling as a Bianconeri player.

Alves also stated his intention for the Italian champions to return to their glory days in European competition, having not achieved success on the European stage since 1996.

“We shall solve what is lacking on a European level,” Alves added. “It is not enough to have good players in competitions, you also have to know how to deal with matches in the right way.”

La Vecchia Signora have finished as Champions League runners-up on several occasions, since last lifting the trophy, these came in  in 1997, 1998, 2003 and, most recently, 2015.
