lichtsteinerJuventus‘ Stephan Lichtsteiner has been targeted as a potential summer transfer by newly appointed Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola, who took charge at the Etihad Stadium this summer, has been quick to put his own stamp on the squad having already signed Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, while also nearing a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Switzerland captain is another player currently being considered by the new Citizens boss.

The arrival of Dani Alves at the Juventus Stadium is likely to see Lichtsteiner’s role in the team reduced, which could see him leave Turin.

During the 2015-16 season, the Swiss featured 26 times in Serie A for the Bianconeri, as they recorded a historic fifth successive Scudetto triumph.
