De Rossi, who has played over 100 times for the Azzurri since making his debut in 2004, will be joined in France by Giallorossi teammates Alessandro Florenzi and Stephan El Shaarawy.

“I have been involved with the national team for many years now,” De Rossi told Rai Sport. “For the first time, I had real fears that I would not get the call from Mr. Conte.

“I am glad that I did, however, and it gives me great joy to be part of the group again.”

The Roman featured 24 times for his club in Serie A this season as they clinched Champions League football with a third-place finish.
