Roma as they look to bolster their defence ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.

The 33-year-old was a vital player for the Citizens last season as he featured in 28 Premier League matches, and 45 games across all competitions.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Frenchman appears to be another target for the capital club.

No official offer or approach has been made yet but it is believed that Luciano Spalletti’s side are keen admirers of the former Arsenal defender, who is currently in France as part of their European Championship efforts.

Other targets include AC Milan‘s Mattia De Sciglio and Udinese‘s Silvan Widmer, as well as Sagna’s teammate, Pablo Zabaleta.

The Frenchman joined City in the summer of 2014 as a free agent from Arsenal.

He began his career at French side Auxerre, before joining the Gunners in 2007.
