Inter crestChinese appliance retailer Suning Commerce Group has agreed to pay €270m for a 70 per cent stake in Inter, in the latest foray into European sport by a big Chinese company.

Suning are looking to make Inter into a global brand, while the Nerazzurri desperately looking for vast improvements after finishing in fourth place in the 2015-16 Serie A table.

“It was not an easy decision, but I believe in what has been done,” Erick Thohir said on the deal, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb. “This is the era of the super club and I cannot deny it, I need help.

“Inter must play in the Europa League and then qualify for the Champions League. Maybe this is not the best decision for everyone, but I think this is the best decision for me as president and for the needs of the team.”
