AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has flown to Ibiza to try and close a deal for defender Mateo Musacchio.

The Argentine international currently plays in La Liga for Villarreal after moving to Spain from Argentina in 2009 and being promoted from the club’s B side.

According to sportmediaset.it, Galliaini will hope to finalise a deal between the Rossoneri and the agent of the 25-year-old worth €25 million, however Musacchio’s current employers will play the hard game as they do not want to receive any less than €30 million for his signature.

Musacchio has played 219 games for Villarreal overall and has scored seven goals, as well as assisting a further nine.

El Submarino Amarillo finished fourth in La Liga last season, meaning they will get European competition next season, a privilege Musacchio would have to sacrifice should he move to Milan.
