Roma on a potentially permanent deal, with an announcement possible on Tuesday.

Szczesny enjoyed a fruitful 2015-16 Serie A campaign with the Giallorossi on loan from Arsenal, keeping eight clean sheets in 34 games, with Roma letting in just 34 goals while he was in between the sticks, which is a figure only beaten by the total number of either of the top two.

According to GazzaMercato, Roma want the 26-year-old back in their squad and English Premier League side Arsenal have given the go ahead for a €1 million loan sale, with the option for the Italians to purchase Szczesny outright at the end of the spell.

Szczesny was promoted to the Gunners’ senior side in 2009 and has stayed with them since, with the exception of the loan out to Roma last year and another to fellow English club Brentford in 2009.
