Serie A side Roma are trying to retain loaned Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for another year, reports say.
However, the future of the Poland international appears to be still uncertain as the Giallorossi and the Gunners are negotiating a way of renovating their deal.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are trying to renew the loan contract with Arsenal, although the London-based side is pushing towards a deal including cash compensation for this new loan spell.
The Giallorossi have already agreed to pay the full amount of Szczesny’s wage for the next season, in the region of €3 million.
Szczesny, 26 years old, had a good season during his loan spell at Roma, accumulating 34 Serie A appearances.
