Amidst speculation linking Atalanta star Alejandro Gomez with a move to AC Milan, the Argentine forward has confessed his desire to join a big club.

Gomez, who was a target of Vincenzo Montella during his tenure in charge of Fiorentina, is thought to be of interest to the newly appointed Rossoneri boss this summer.

“It is nice to be wanted by clubs,” Gomez said, speaking to Sky Sport Italia. “Montella is a good coach. He wanted to sign me before, when he was at Fiorentina.

“Right now, these stories are just rumours. Every year, I speak to several clubs. I am expecting an approach from a big club.

“If a big club comes for me, then good; if not, I am happy to stay here [with Atalanta].”

Acknowledging that La Dea see him as an indispensable squad member, Papu added that the club are aware that he has ambitions of playing for a big team.

“For Atalanta, I am non-transferable,” he continued. “I told the club before that I have dreams of playing for a big side someday.”

During the 2015-16 season, Gomez featured 34 times, scoring seven and assisting an additional seven goals for his teammates in that time.
