icardiInter sporting director Piero Ausilio has remained defiant that captain Mauro Icardi will not leave the side, amid interest from Napoli.

The Partenopei are reportedly hoping that the Argentine striker can help fill the gap Gonzalo Higuain will leave behind after his departure to Juventus, but the Nerazzurri have claimed they will reject offers as high as €60 million for him.

“Icardi is absolutely not for sale, it is not a question of money,” Ausilio told fcinternews.

“What has been said about Napoli is true, we too have had contact with Napoli, but we are not letting him go to Naples.

“There is not a negotiation, Inter are keeping Icardi like you would keep other players.

“I do not care what Napoli can offer, Icardi has a clause and Inter do not want to sell him. Easy.”

From the point of view of the Biscione fans, Icardi has been slightly out of favour recently following comments made by his wide, Wanda Nara.

He has received the backing of former president Massimo Moratti, however, while current president Erick Thohir has also showed his support.
