Lazio ChoreographyThe FIGC could award Lazio their third Scudetto crown on August 4, as they are expected to announce whether or not the 1914-15 championship should be shared with Genoa.

Both clubs were due to meet in an end-of-season final to decide the winner of the title, however, with the outbreak of World War One, Italy entered battle before the game could be played.

In 1919, a decision was made to grant the title to the Grifone, with many media sources explaining that this was due to the Ligurian side being widely regarded as the better of the two teams.

“It is a legitimate Scudetto,” said Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito. “It was taken away from us by the war.”

After 30,000 Lazio supporters signed a petition to investigate the decision, Italian football’s governing body have set up a commission to look at the outcome.

Should the title be shared between the clubs, Lazio would draw level with their bitter Eternal City rivals, Roma, as the Giallorossi currently sit one ahead of the Aquile on three Scudetti.
