MorataNapoli are considering a move for former Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, in the hopes of replacing Bianconeri-bound Gonzalo Higuain.

Following a strong season which saw the Partenopei qualify for the Champions League, the southern Italian club are now in search for a new striker, after their record setting goal-scorer completed a trade to their rivals in Turin.

On the day Higuain officially moved to La Vecchia Signora, Il Mattino reported Napoli are now planning a transfer for Alvaro Morata, who was recently repurchased by his childhood club, Real Madrid.

According to reports, Inter captain Mauro Icardi is still the Partenopei’s main target, having already offered €45 million plus bonuses, but if they are unable to obtain the Argentine, the club will make a move for the Spanish international.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is expected to meet with officials of Los Blancos to discuss such a move soon.
