Sampdoria have sold defensive midfielder Fernando to Russian club Spartak Moscow.

The 24-year-old moved to Italy last year from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of €8 million and had since been called up for the Brazilian national side for their matches against Japan and Iraq.

According to GazzaMercato, Fernando’s next destination will be Russian Premier League club Spartak Moscow in a deal worth €12.5 million.

Spartak finished last season in fifth place meaning they take part in the Europa League qualifying rounds for this season.

While playing in a Blucerchiati shirt, Fernando managed four goals and three assists in 38 games in all competitions, only missing out on three of his side’s Serie A matches last year due to injuries or suspensions.
