Roma captain Francesco Totti has said his dream is to end his career by winning the Scudetto one more time with the Giallorossi.

The 40-year old forward has played his entire career in the Italian capital, but has only won the league titles once, back in 2000/01 season, along with two Coppa Italia medals.

“To be honest, I’d like to play for a few more seasons, but if we win the Scudetto this year, then I would certainly end with that,” Totti told fans during a Q&A session.

“But we must be honest, it is hard to win the championship, and at the moment Juventus is the strongest team in the league.”

Totti is expected to retire at the end of the coming season, having made his debut with the club back in 1993 as well as being part of the 2006 Italian national team which won the World Cup.

“These have been 25 wonderful years with many ups and downs, but I always tried to do my best and hold the Roma colours as high up as possible,” he said.

“Overall, I am very satisfied with my career, and I am proud of what I have done.”
