AC Milan in pledging his allegiance to La Viola.

The 31-year-old had been linked with a move to the Rossoneri as a result of them announcing former Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella as their new coach, under whom Valero played between 2012 and 2015, however he has confirmed there is little chance of a transfer.

“I want to end my career [at Fiorentina],” the 31-year-old said, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. “My compliments to Montella, I became a great player with him.”

The Spaniard has also been linked with Roma, but his current contract with Fiorentina expires in 2019, making it highly unlikely he will ever move away.

“It’s nice that teams are interested in me, it means I have been playing well, but I have a long contract [at Fiorentina] and I am very happy in Florence,” he added.

“The people of Florence have always loved me and I hope to show them the same feelings through my performances on the pitch.”
