AC Milan have made Rodrigo Bentancur their primary target for midfield and have submitted an offer worth €15 million to Boca Juniors for him.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani moved quickly for the 19-year-old midfielder after he was given the green light by Silvio Berlusconi to use an extra €15m to reinforce the midfield before the summer transfer window closes.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri have offered Bentancur a five-year contract worth €1.5m a year, but they will have to wait a few days for the response because Juventus hold the buying option for the player after a clause was inserted in Carlos Tevez’s transfer agreement back in summer 2015.

Bentancur was raised through the youth ranks at Boca and established himself in the first team as a central midfielder last season, and promptly attracted several European clubs, including Inter and Real Madrid.
