Torino, England goalkeeper Joe Hart admitted his eagerness to learn in Italy.

The transfer had been speculated for a number of days, before Hart landed in Turin and posed with the Granta shirt on Tuesday, with the goalkeeper finding himself out of favour in Manchester since Pep Guardiola’s arrival.

“Torino is a great club, first and foremost,” Hart told Il Toro’s official website. “Their offer came at the right time for me as my career has suddenly reached an important turning point.

“I am vert excited to test myself in an important and beautiful league like Serie A. The history and quality of goalkeeping in Italy is known everywhere and I’m sure than I can learn a lot here at Torino, which is why I accepted President [Urbano] Cairo’s offer.”

The 29-year-old shot-stopper also admitted to reading up on the club, in an attempt to learn more about his new employers, as well as being keen to work under Sinisa Mihajlovic and Attilio Lombardo.

“I have read things about Toro and I know that the coach wants humility and ambition,” he added. “I like that. That’s how I want to be.

“I’ve already met Attilio who I worked with in Manchester and won a lot and I hope to have those same emotions again this year.”

Hart could be handed his Serie A debut for the Granata in round three when his new club make the short trip to Bergamo to face Atalanta.
