joao marioInter have turned their attention back to Sporting CP’s Portugal international Joao Mario.

The Nerazzurri expressed an interest in the 23-year-old earlier in the summer but lacked the financial clout for discussions to proceed although that has changed following the arrival of the Suning group.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are now set to offer an initial fee of €45 million along with an extra €5m in bonuses in an attempt to land the Euro 2016 winner.

Mario is represented by the well-known football businessman Kia Joorabchian who has previously been involved with third-party deals and he has reportedly arrived in Portugal to discuss the deal.

The midfielder made 33 appearances and scored six goals for Sporting during the 2015-16 Primeira Liga season as the Lisbon side finished in second, two points behind local rivals Benfica.
