Nicola Sansone has completed his move to Villarreal from Serie A side Sassuolo, following in the footsteps of former Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano.
El Submarino Amarillo, who finished fourth in La Liga last season, have been looking to strengthen their squad this summer ahead of their participation in this season’s Champions League.
Sansone’s arrival at Estadio El Madrigal was confirmed by the Spanish side on their official website.
The Neroverdi agreed to part ways with Sansone for €13 million, with the Italian penning a five-year contract at the Castellon club.
Soriano, on the other hand, made the same move for a fee believed to be in the region of €14m, with the former Samp player also signing a five-year deal.
