AC Milan man Carlos Bacca looking increasingly unlikely, West Ham United have turned their attention towards Mario Gomez.

Bacca has been linked with a move to the English Premier League side for a while but negotiations have never really reached a solid conclusion, thus West Ham have lost faith in the transfer and begun looking elsewhere.

According to reports from the Daily Mirror, despite the Colombian international remaining their number one target, the Hammers are also looking at Fiorentina forward Gomez, and would be willing to spend around €8 million for his services.

The German international spent last season on loan at Turkish club Besiktas and helped them win the Turkish Super Lig last year, scoring 28 goals in 41 games and assisting a further six.

He joined La Viola in 2013, having previously played for the likes of Bayern Munich and VFB Stuttgart.

It remains to be seen whether Gomez would be in favour of a move to England, after he recently declined the chance to join Wolfsburg.
