Juventus on Sunday evening as a result of their hard work.
The Nerazzurri lost 2-0 to Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the Europa League just three days before their massive Derby d’Italia clash with the Bianconeri, but they came from 1-0 down at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to claim all three points.
“We talked a lot after the Europa League match and that’s why we won,” De Boer told Sky Sport Italia.
“We deserved this victory, I have to congratulate the team.
“Everyone believes in what we do and this is our reward, this is a team that has given everything.”
The Nerazzurri came back from behind for the second week running on Sunday, which is something De Boer and his squad were prepared for.
“We talked a lot during the week, saying we could go behind,” he said.
“And in the past, we slightly lost our head against Chievo and Pescara, but it’s worse when you play against Juventus.
“But we stayed focused and we got our reward, I’m happy with everything because everyone did their best.”
The Dutchman was then questioned on Inter’s chances of winning the Scudetto this season, however he said there is still a long way to go.
“It’s always nice to think about these things after a win against Juventus, but we must now think about our match with Empoli and making another step forward,” he said.
“We still have a long way to go, every Sunday we have to show we can play as a collective otherwise the other teams will do better.”
