pelle italyItaly striker Graziano Pelle believes he still has a lot left to offer the squad on the attacking front after scoring against Israel.

The Azzurri won 3-1 in their 2018 World Cup qualifier on Monday night, with the other Italian goals coming from Ciro Immobile and Antonio Candreva.

“I am a striker, the team expects goals from me and I hope to always improve,” Pelle told Rai after the game.

“We have shown that when the games count Italy are always there, we are pleased with the new staff and our new coach.”

Pelle and fellow national striker Simone Zaza provided an unwanted highlight of Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign after their penalty misses in the shootout against Germany, but Pelle has insisted people must move on and that he still has a strong ability to showcase on the pitch.

“I can have many faults but my quality is to be positive, I’m a stubborn person and I want to keep improving,” he said.

“Unfortunately bad things can happen in football like that but it doesn’t finish there, I think I can still give a lot to Italy.”
