Round six of action saw Inter and AC Milan slowed down as Juventus and Napoli keep up their good run and maintain the top two positions in Serie A.

Roma lost to Torino and stay in mediocrity, whilst Lazio won again and Fiorentina drew their second in a row.

At the bottom, Pescara earned a good point in Genoa, with Atalanta demolishing fellow strugglers Crotone.

Our Team of the Week will see a 3-4-3 formation deployed.

Angelo Da Costa – Bologna

If Bologna left the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with a point it is thanks to an organized team and the goal by Mattia Destro, but also, crucially, Da Costa’s saves. Especially two on Antonio Candreva keep the Rossoblu in the game.

Pol Lirola – Sassuolo

The young Spaniard delivered yet another wonderful performance, up and down on the right flank. Gregoire Defrel picked up his brilliant low cross to score the decisive goal.

serie-a-1617-totw6Francesco Zampano – Pescara

A constant movement on the right, both defensively and offensively. Then, on 85 minutes, he found the strength to beat his opponent and deliver a beauty in the middle that Rey Manaj had to just tap into goal to equalise against Genoa.

Antonio Barreca – Torino

In his first game from the start he found someone like Mohamed Salah in front of him. Not a problem, combining accuracy in the defensive movements with pace and physicality, Barreca annihilated the Egyptian winger.

Iago Falque – Torino

Playing against his former team mates clearly meant a lot to Falque, who fired home two goals, including a penalty, and drove the Roma defence berzerk.

Marek Hamsik – Napoli

A sensational finish against Chievo to put the Partenopei up 2-0 and secure the three points. That was also his 100th goal for the Partenopei. What more can be said?

Joao Pedro – Cagliari

Scored the opener against Sampdoria with a lovely flying volley. On top of that, he showcased his quality every time he touched the ball.

Antonio Candreva – Inter

His assist for Ivan Perisic’s wonder-strike is an absolute beauty. The winger was the most threatening player on the pitch, delivering a total of 17 crosses for the Nerazzurri forwards.

Alejandro Gomez – Atalanta

He does the same thing repeatedly throughout the game: dribbles the first opponent and shoots beautifully on target. Capped off his performance with an incredibly powerful strike to make it 3-0.

Andrea Belotti – Torino (3 Team of the Week appearances)

What a No.9 the young Italian is becoming. His fifth goal of the season against the Giallorossi, but also the assist for Falque’s goal and the penalty gained. Complete, all-around performance.

Keita Balde Diao – Lazio

The finish to put the Biancocelesti ahead against Chievo is a combination of skill and power. He went close to scoring the second at least twice and was a constant menace for the visitors back four.
