After impressing everyone at the opening game of the 2018 World Cup, Russia star Aleksandr Golovin didn’t shy away from recent reports linking him with a move to Juventus.

The home nation secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia, a match in which the CSKA Moscow starlet tallied two assists before netting a fine freekick in the closing moments of the game.

Recent reports have linked him with a €25 million move to Juventus, and while Golovin admitted he’s flattered by the interest, his focus is on doing well at the World Cup at this time.

“I’m flattered that a strong team [Juventus] is looking at me,” he told reporters after the victory. “However they are just rumours at this time. My focus is on the national team and the World Cup.

“The Italian league is a good one and there are a lot of great players at Juventus. The best and most creative is [Paulo] Dybala.”

It’s believed Juventus and Golovin have already agreed to contract terms, but the Bianconeri are hoping to lower CSKA’s €25m valuation of the player – though that could prove difficult given Friday’s performance.
