Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi is expected to join Roma soon but negotiations are still in progress with both clubs looking for a compromise regarding his transfer fee.
It seems probable that the 29-year-old will be leaving the southern Spanish club after he was seen in the stands during the Rojiblancos’ 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana on Sunday evening and he is interested in completing a move to Rome.
Il Messaggero report that Roma are willing to pay €25 million for Nzonzi and offer him a wage €3m per season but Sevilla are asking a higher figure.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Giallorossi sporting director Monchi acknowledges that both clubs are not in full agreement as yet but he aims to complete the deal by Tuesday.
Nzonzi has played in 136 competitive matches for Sevilla since he joined them in 2015 and he was a part of the French squad that won the 2018 World Cup.
