Simone Scuffet - UdineseSerie B new boys Calcio Como have signed Udinese goalkeeper Simone Scuffet on loan.

The 19-year-old has been tipped to be Italy’s long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon and made his breakthrough in the 2013-14 season under former coach Francesco Guidolin.

However, the Italian U-18 international has found first-team football hard to come by under Andrea Stramaccioni and Scuffet has now moved to the Lariani in order to gain some more experience of professional football with Como confirming the news on their official website.

Scuffet made 16 starts under Guidolin, however since Stramaccioni has been in charge the former Inter coach has preferred the more experienced Orestis Karnezis over the 19-year-old.

In the summer of 2014, Scuffet was offered the chance to join Spanish giants Atletico Madrid but turned down the opportunity feeling that the Zebrette were the best club for him to develop at.
