Pescara and Atalanta played out an utterly uneventful 0-0 draw at the Stadio Adriatico in Serie A on Sunday.

Despite the teams being the last two winners of Serie B where they both scored goals for fun. It was apparent from the start that two of this season’s lowest scoring teams were not going to produce a thriller.

The home side must have considered themselves fortunate that the first half finished goalless with the Nerazzurri having ten shots on target compared to the Delfino’s one, with Luca Cigarini and Giacomo Bonaventura both striking the post from distance.

Both teams did a good job of  applying pressure through the midfield, while restricting each other from having long spells of possession.

Pescara were gifted an ideal opportunity to go for the win when Federico Peluso was sent off a second yellow card early in the second half. The Azzurri defender picked up his second red card in six games as he left La Dea with ten men.

Vladimír Weiss started to take advantage of the extra man as the visitors failed to mark him for long periods of the game but the young Slovakian couldn’t make his chances pay off.

Unfortunately this game will be quickly forgotten with neither side showing anything in the way of attacking intent you couldn’t even say it was a good example of defending with both defences and goalkeepers having very little to do from start to finish.
